Winter Scene
If it wasn’t for the cars in the foreground the view out of the back of my office looks very dickensian.

I’ve moved seats this morning and have a new view out over the courtyard at the back of the office to
St Mary’s Cathedral

15 times up and down the stairs today in the office means I’m on track to do my 75 in a week – just realised I’m off on Friday so need to step up the pace to do it in 4 days!
It’s never too late to donate.
What! Bruce is heading off on a major expedition for weeks of altitude acclimatisation/trekking through the Himalayas?
No – don’t be silly!
Since we’ve moved to our new office, someone commented on the number of stairs (we have 4 floors) so we decided to use them to make some money for Children 1st.
15 or 16 of us in the office are each doing a share of 1000+ ascents from the ground to the top floor totalling 8850 metres or so (the height of Everest)
Now we do go up and down the stairs several times a day, but those ones don’t count – they have to be specific ‘Everest Challenge’ ascents.
If you wish to donate then head over to our justgiving page.
We have 6 weeks from the 1st of November to do it which equates to about 2 ascents a day – to make sure everyone can do it.
Our office are involved in Scotland’s Health at Work which has become the healthy working lives initiative. Basically it involves us taking an interest in eating well, getting a bit of exercise and being aware of health issues relating to the workplace.
As part of this we get issued with a newsletter once in a while saying what events are coming soon that we might be interested in.
Right, on to the headline…
What is special about the 14th February? Valentine’s day right. A night for couples to be all romantic and maybe more at the end of the night?
Well its also being promoted as National Impotence Awareness Day ![]()
and it’s slap bang in the middle of Contraceptive Awareness Week!!!!
Somebody has got to be doing this for a laugh?

The weather is abysmal today so I am on the bus. The wind was blowing a gale and the rain seemed to be battering against the window off and on for most of last night. A day to stay at home in bed I reckon. Unfortunately work beckoned so here I am!
It’s still a struggle to get up for work after two weeks off, seems to be getting more so as the week progresses. Roll on the weekend so I might be able to get back to normal.
En-suite is still in progress. Nearly manage to get the WC reattached last night but the tiles must be thicker than before as the water feed in doesn’t quite fit as snug as it should. Some jiggery pokery required there methinks.
Enough already – backgammon to catch up on during lunch.
