We flew in to Pisa for one night – basically just for the cheap flights and to see the tower obviously.

Then on to Florence for 5 nights or so

Then sunny Assisi where we had an apartment for a week.

Finally 3 nights in Rome before jetting back home 16 days after we left.

We stayed at the fantastic Braighe House B+B 3 miles out of Stornoway. The service was fantastic along with the accomodation – lots of nice wee touches made the stay most enjoyable.

We cycled a bit on the day we arrived but then had to trundle about by car the next couple of days due to horizontal rain one day and gales the next! Ate well though and managed a bit of cycling in the grounds of Lews Castle on the monday before a delayed ferry brough us home.

For years I ran a separate gallery website but have now moved it to be integrated properly as part of my blog. It makes it at lot easier to update and maintain, and with a bit of luck I’ll post pictures more regularly to it!

It might get rearranged a bit as I get used to it but I won’t lose any of the pictures.

Ate at the Oxo Tower Brasserie on Saturday lunch.

Dangled our feet in the Princess of Wales memorial fountain

Walked round Hyde Park

Saw The Sound of Music at the London Palladium on Saturday Night

Went on the London Eye

Ate an amazing meal in the Boxwood Cafe

Sat about in St James Park in the sun.
